Celery Issues

Came across a post on a fascinating webpage.

I suppose Celerydotsg is popular among competitive Singaporeans for no other reason than to see where you stack up against the populace.

Here goes the summary.

Essentially, for the 25-29 age group, the median earner is pulling about 3.1k (Professional) and 3.6k (Management).

Being motivated by shallow self interest, I is too lazy to summarize the 20-24 range here, even though I realise that most of my female readers will belong in that category. So there. Shouldn't be difficult to figure out the webpage though.

So.. about 3.5k huh? And if you move up to the 50-59 age range, its about 7k for management and 5k for professional (there's actually a downward sloping curve, possibly due to skill obsolescence).

To put things in perspective, even if you were to strike 2m in toto, it would not even be enough to finance a condo in the central area and a flashy car. And 2m/7k is approximately 300 months. That's like 25 years of salary WITHOUT savings, consumption, investment etc.

Of course, it doesn't take into account the whole bonuses thing. So lets say you get 12 months bonus a year. That way, you only have to work 12.5 years to get 2m. Again, without savings, consumption, investment, etc etc.

How absolutely and delightfully charming. Makes you feel like quitting and going into entrepreneurship or full time toto betting doesn't it?

And people wonder why I don't pay my $1 to SeedyAySee every month. I HATE opt-out schemes, and I'm not even "there" yet in my life and career. (Actuary the main reason is because my one-half-angel-the-other-half-maybe-devil-Friend told me it was possible to opt out and sent me the form. heh.)

Speaking of which, I wonder what my one-half-angel-the-other-half-maybe-devil-Friend sees in me that we continue to go out. Actually, my one-half-angel-the-other-half-maybe-devil-Friend has already told me but then sometimes I still wonder. After all, I is an unemployed and lazy bum.

I think I is lucky sometimes.

Oh well... time to go out.
Today got 4D draw and tomorrow got Toto draw, if I don't misremember. Gotta take advantage of the good luck while it lasts right?
