The Sibeh Heng Post

Came across this item being sold at a certain restaurant in Wisma Atria the other day...
Lucky?
Now the only thing that struck me was...
If the fish was really that lucky, it wouldn't have ended up on the pizza now would it?
Hmmm

Qantas Jokes

Shamelessly stolen from Elvina: (Who stole it from someone else. heh.)

After every flight, Qantas pilots fill out a form, called a "gripe sheet," which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems, document their repairs on the form, then the pilots review the gripe sheets right before the next flight.

Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some of the actual maintenance complaints submitted by the Qantas' pilots (as marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (as marked with an S) by the maintenance engineers.

By the way, it is relevant to note that Qantas is the only major airline in the world that has never, ever, had an accident!

P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement.
S: Almost replaced left inside main tire.

P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough.
S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft.

P: Something loose in the cockpit.
S: Something tightened in the cockpit.

P: Dead bugs on windshield.
S: Live bugs on backorder.

P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute descent.
S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground.

P: Evidence of a leak on the right main landing gear.
S: Evidence removed.

P: DME volume unbelievably loud.
S: DME volume reset to a more believable level.

P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick.
S: That's what friction locks are for.

P: IFF inoperative in OFF mode.
S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode.

P: Suspected crack in windshield.
S: Suspect you're right.

P: The number 3 engine is missing.
S: Engine found on right wing after a brief search.

P: Aircraft handles funny.
S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right and be serious.

P: Target radar hums.
S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics.

P: Mouse in cockpit.
S: Cat installed.

And the best one saved for the last..

P: Noise coming from under the instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.
S: Took hammer away from the midget.

Mahjong!

Went over to Raffles Place MRT to pick up my much belated b'day present from Mr Tay himself:
Mahjong!
Wooden Mahjong Set.

MINE. ALL. MINE.

My mum has pointed out that lacking animals it might be abit hard to make enough tai to hu, but who cares! Hope to get a chance to use this set soon.

Will schedule one day for the "Opening Ceremony", but it will most likely be in April because I will be in KL soon =(

Anyway I totally understand why you were so reluctant to bring it to your office now. Fairly heavy even though its made of wood.

Thanks YS =)

Good Nuah Weekend

Well, haven't been posting much, even though its been a very nuah weekend.

Took leave on Friday so wasn't in the office even though I believe I was spotted around the Tanjong Pagar area around 8.35am in beachwear. Some of my colleagues were like "wtf?". Oh well =p

*Sidenote: 4 of the team were on leave on Friday, 2 of which were headed to Krabi. Leading my team leader to comment "Is there a conspiracy going on? Why's everyone on leave!". Heh. Btw, hope the Krabi trip's good ya folks. (Those who read this blog anyway) Take more pictures!*

So what is a great thing to do on a day off? Well, went Island-hopping. It WAS pretty interesting, to just spend a day slacking in a shelter by a beautiful lagoon with a wonderful view of the magnificent Singapore City Skyline (yeah yeah. Enough with the superlative descriptions right. heh.) Ended up doing almost absolutely nothing except munching on food and taking turns to nap. Surprisingly tiring though, perhaps it was the journey there and back.

Friday evening was spent at another island (see? Island-hopping wor.)

Took the Sentosa Express in, spent some time bumming around, tried out the Skylift and Luge as well then took the train out for dinner @ Sushi Tei. Love the food. Took the Sentosa Express in (again) just in time to catch the last show by the Musical Fountain.

Also went for the Images of Singapore (Pretty boring I thought) as well as the Carlsberg Sky Tower. Its wonderful when all the above (except Sushi Tei and Luge) is free.

Its been one of the best weekends ever, and its not over yet. Going out to celebrate someone's birthday in just a bit, probably gonna catch a movie then go for a good dinner.

Life's looking good =)

Photos of my weekend? Maybe I'll post up, maybe not. See mood =)
